Dr Valentina Borgia is a researcher affiliated to the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research (University of Cambridge). She received her PhD in Prehistory at the University of Siena (Italy). Her scientific background encompasses a range of topics that span from lithic and bone tools technology to Palaeolithic population subsistence economy and prehistoric art; nevertheless the study of hunting weapons has been the focal point of her research.

Bosman, Arjen V.A.J. (Dr.)

Na een assistentschap bij de Universiteit van Amsterdam, afgesloten met zijn promotie in 1997 over het Romeinse fort Velsen 1, was Arjen Bosman (1963) voor de Gemeente Velsen museumconservator, en later plaatsvervangend provinciaal archeoloog in Overijssel en Gelderland bij de Rijksdienst voor het Oudheidkundig Bodemonderzoek.

Boswinkel, Yannick (Dr.)

Yannick Boswinkel (Schiedam 1987) started his archaeological education in 2009 at the Faculty of Archaeology, Leiden University. He completed the two-year research master ‘Town and Country in the Mediterranean and the Near East’, cum laude in 2015. In 2016 he started his PhD project in the SETinSTONE project, led by Prof. dr. Ann Brysbaert at the Faculty of Archaeology, Leiden University. The study into the investment required for large scale fortifications in Mycenaean Greece, was finished in four years. Within the same period, Yannick was also head of the Faculty Council at the same institute for two years (2017-2019) and an editor for the journal INTER-SECTION for three years (2016-2019). After finishing his PhD, Yannick gained a position as a project manager with an engineering firm, Econsultancy.

Babs Boter is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Humanities, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Her research and teaching focus on life writing, travel writing and Diaspora Studies. She is initiator and convenor of the international expert group Unhinging the National Framework: Platform for the Study of Life Writing and Transnationalism.

Quentin performed his PhD study within the research project Ancestral Mounds.In his research he dealt with groups of barrows and their position within the landscape. Through extensive GIS-analyses he attempted to shed some light on the choice of location for the placement of the burial monuments. Why were they placed there, what could be seen from that location, and how did this develop through time?

Jeroen Bouwmeester werkt sinds 2009 als senior onderzoeker middeleeuwse en vroegmoderne stad bij de Rijksdienst voor het Cultureel Erfgoed. Hij is afgestudeerd in de Archeologie van Noordwest-Europa aan de Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Since 2009, Jeroen Bouwmeester has been employed by the Cultural Heritage Agency as a senior researcher of medieval and early-modern cities. He studied the archaeology of Northwest Europe at VU University in Amsterdam.
